Financial Standards Group was established in 1989 to provide auditing services to the Credit Union community.
FSG has grown to approximately 250 clients in over ten states.
We maintain offices in Kentucky, Michigan and Mississippi and specialize in providing Supervisory Committee Audits, as well as CPA audits through our subsidiary Financial Standards Group CPA, LLC.
FSG conducts a complete financial statement audit (Balance Sheet and Income Statement), as well as additional services that the credit union may request.
(ACH, BSA, Safe Act, and IT audits).
We are searching for independent thinkers who prefer not to be restrained by a typical 9-5 position at a single location.
The position involves travel to our clients to perform annual audits, quarterly audits, or special one-time audits.
Our auditors work within a highly regulated industry (Credit Unions) under the supervision of an in-charge or manager on weekly agreed upon procedures, opinion audits, or other projects.
As different client audits are performed weekly, the candidate must be able to work in constantly changing environments.
Accuracy and attention to detail is extremely important.
Although highly regulated, our credit union clients offer a unique, business casual atmosphere.
Duties include the following but are not limited to:
Travel throughout Kentucky (approx.
20-40% overnight travel Monday through Thursday) Perform loan reviews-we have recognized that prior experience in the underwriting of loans is highly desirable.
Approximately 40% of our audit program covers some type of loan review.
Perform cash counts-Reconcile all cash to the general ledger.
Application and knowledge of NCUA and State of Kentucky regulations Application of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) in the performance of audits Completion of audits/loan reviews within firm timelines Writing reports with professionalism utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel Customer service-oriented in answering client inquiries in an effective and efficient manner General office work including information analysis and data entry
Qualifications:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
Experience with Banks, Credit Unions, loans, or NCUA is highly desirable.
Loan underwriters are are encouraged to apply.
Lending/Credit Union experience a plus.
Auditing background is a plus.
Candidates must possess excellent (business) writing skills and analytical and reasoning abilities.
Working knowledge and understanding of internal controls, legislative and regulatory issues, compliance regulations, governance, and information technology a plus.
Working knowledge of GAAP desirable.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
